MBA Solvay was present at the February “Expat” Fairs in Brussels. On February 9 we attended the MBA Access Fair, where, with the great support of our Alumni and current participants, we met as much as 30 pre-selected candidates! Through one-to-one interviews with individuals whose profiles had already been matched with the MBA Solvay requirements, the impact of the meetings is improved. On February 13 we attended the EU Studies Fair 2010, organized by European Voice and which targets the international student community in Brussels, offering a platform where the European Institutions, the best universities and business schools and the most ambitious students meet. Beside the presence at international fairs, MBA Solvay meets the candidates through the INFO-SESSIONS on-campus. Next on-campus appointments are:
Thursday, 11 March 2010
Thursday, 13 May 2010
Thursday, 24 June 2010
Come join us!

Ramon Suarez, MBA alumnus 2008 and Androulla Vassiliou, EU commissioner for Education, at the EU Studies Fair.

Today is the MBA’s kick-off. The new participants will start their once in a life time journey with some activities to help them know each other, the alumni and the staff better, and to get into the hard-working and fun mode of MBA Solvay.
We can not disclose a lot about the programme, as it has some surprises for the participants. What we can advance is that the day will start wiht the welcome of Hugues Pirotte, director of MBA Solvay.
They will then have their first course with marketing professor Christian Bluemelhuber. This is a one day special course to get the brains rolling. The only thing we can advance is the title: Why Strategy?
If you do not know Christian Bluemelhuber, he holds the InBev-Baillet Latour Chair in Euromarketing at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management. These videos will give you an idea of his style and what his courses are like. They were recorded during The Top Managers Event 2008, where Christian gave the presentation Successful leaders on Customer focused strategies in a worldwide economy.
After this course, the participants will be given a set of tasks to accomplish downtown, with a final debriefing and networking session in the center of Brussels well into the night.
Welcome to the MBA rush!

The new building is rising! You can really see how the work is advancing fast comparing to the last pictures posted. The walls are coming up and you can get a real feeling of progression.
The construction of the new Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management building, where all its programs will be hosted, is scheduled for September 2010. In a little more than a year we will be moving in the new premisses.

Our business school is in a process of radical improvement and innovation linked to the merger of the Solvay Business School and the Economics Department of the ULB. The MBA is already benefiting from this merger thanks to the rationalization of resources and the synergies with the Executive Education unit, of which we are now one of the main parties.
One of the contributions of the MBA Solvay team to this innovation and improvement are two new communication tools: this blog and our Twitter account. Thanks to the efforts of the alumni, the participants and the staff you will from now on be updated regularly on all the things happening in and around MBA Solvay.
Social media are collaborative tools to engage and promote conversations, so YES! we want to hear from you, what you think, what you would like to know, and everything that you may want to discuss. Who are these direct stakeholders? The staff, the alumni, the current participants from our full time and part time MBA programs, and the prospective candidates. Basically, all people that have an interest in our MBA.
If you are an alumnus of MBA Solvay and you blog or Twitter, send us the links so that we can add you to the blogroll.
Looking forward to hear from you!
